Community Benefits

People absolutely love this project! Everyone is very excited about having a statue of Spider-Man in Forest Hills. Spider-Man will bring joy and smiles to children and adults alike. Who does not like Spider-Man?

It will be life-size, approachable and photo worthy. Forest Hills residents will be proud to share Spider-Man with their neighbors, friends, and family. Hopefully, it will become an integral part of Forest Hills for many, many years to come.

Statues Define New York City
New York City has great statues that are iconic. Five statues that come to mind are the Statue of Liberty, Prometheus in Rockefeller Center, Charging Bull near Wall Street, Alice in Wonderland in Central Park and the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. These statues are known throughout the Unites States and the world at large. Statues bring life to New York City and its many great neighborhoods. They are destinations for residents and tourists. They bring people together and are cherished by all.

We strongly believe Spider-Man will do the same for Forest Hills. 
 

Team

• Larry Ng is a long-time resident of Forest Hills. He is the original proponent of the idea, and serves as the project lead and fundraiser. 

• David Cortes is the creative lead. He was the designer for the Captain America statue in Brooklyn. He serves as creative designer for the Spider-Man statue, and will oversee its design, fabrication and installation.

• Michael Perlman is a 5th generation resident of Forest Hills and journalist. He serves as historian and community lead for this project. He will also help with site selection and community engagement.
